Feinstein's reply says it all...they never really read a bill. Instead they rely on their staff's interpretation. The only time they really check language is when the bill is theirs or they co-author; only then do they carefully check for ambiquities or conflicting phrases. Writing to a politician and just voicing your opposition is a waste of time. Instead pick out an ambiquity, a conflicting phrase, a generalization open to misinterpretation. That is the key!!! Thenthey just might have their staff take a second look. Just my humble observation after years of dealing with this particular and peculiar species. Marie K.
