(Tending/Course C Style)

Susan Sullivan has been herding since 1990 and has been an AKC herding
judge since 2001. Susan is well known as one of the most experienced and
knowledgeable Course C (tending style) herding instructors and competitors.
Her
dogs have earned numerous HIT awards across the country. HC Indian Ledge Lex
O'Firethorn HXCs won the first SV sanctioned HGH in this country and the
next year was the first dog awarded the GSDCA's Herding Victor. Recently she
finished the second dual champion GSD as well as an HXCs on a group
winning GSD.
More importantly, Susan is an excellent instructor with students
successfully competing at the upper levels of AKC herding. Her background as
an
educator (she teaches sixth grade at her day job!) helps her support a wide
variety of dogs of multiple breeds as well as handlers with diverse
backgrounds and learning styles. She has worked tirelessly to promote this
type of
herding. She believes this work, the basis of European herding breeds, is an
excellent way to develop a deep relationship between the dog and handler.
Tending is good for the dogs, good for the sheep and good for the earth.
Working spots will be limited to about 6 teams.
