Everyone at the Fitchburg shows please READ below.
I will be setting up a link shortly to contact AKC regarding our 'friendly' rep
from this weekend.
Look for it on gsdbydesign.com

Thank you to everyone who replied.

No, it's really a terribly missunderstood term, and most reps pay no
attention as long as it is not ridiculous (jumping up and down, waving cats in
the air, LOL
etc. . I see it as no different from the Dobe folks waving huge chunks of
liver, or the terrier folks waving their little false furry squeeky mice,
etc.  Our shepherds
are smart, let's face it.  Once around smartly, and they look at us and say,
"I've
just done that !!!!.  They are not motivated to do it again unless we bring
them a reason.  A sheep would motivate , but AKC is going to be much less
acceping
of your bringing a sheep to the ring than a bell.  Don't fret it; just be
discreet, and
don't make a fool of yourself or run over anyone.

There are NO other rules for exhibitors? Does it say somewhere that it is
frowned upon, banned, etc??

   Hi all -
I am looking for the specific language in the AKC rules regarding
double-handling. All I was able to find was this (from the "Rules, Policies
and Guidelines for Conformation Dog Show Judges"):

Double Handling - Evaluate each dog solely on its merit without regard to
outside influences such as double handling. Double handling can usually be
eliminated by announcing to exhibitors
and ringside that you will not tolerate the practice. You may excuse any dog
from
competition if you believe someone or something is influencing its
performance or showmanship other than the dogÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s handler in the
ring. If there are unnecessary disturbances outside your ring, you may call
for the Show Chairman or the AKC Field Representative.

Anyone out there have the rules for exhibitors?
  TIA!
