Through the years, I have seen this (a lot) on solid blacks. I keep
Goodwinol ointment and put it around the eyes--it clears up within a
couple weeks.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why the hair around the eyes would do
this and if there is something we could put around the eyes to help
the hair grow back? Our vet is not concerned but we are. Any help
would be appreciated.
