Hi Vicki,
In order for our club (Fort Worth German Shepherd Dog
Club) to hold Herding Instinct Tests we first had to
be approved by AKC to hold herding events. We put on
a sanctioned herding match in March and we were
approved. We have scheduled our first trial for
November and we will hold our first Herding Instinct
Tests (four events with two judges) on January 6 & 7
in conjunction with the Nolan River Kennel Club shows
(Y'all come!)
Herding Instinct tests require an AKC licensed herding
judge to do the evaluation. AKC Herding Instinct
Certification requires qualifiying evaluations by two
different herding judges.
