My friend here in Canada who is 74 years young remembers as a girl in 
Britain, the Name if German shepherd Dog was changed to Alsatian  to remove 
any trace of a association to Germany.

For those few that read my posts, I will give a bit more  history.

In the United States in 1913 the GSDC of America was formed. In 1916, the
name German was removed, and we were incorporated as the Shepherd Club of
