As I said I do not use raised dishes, I hold kit's dish with my feet so it
does not slide around the room. Kit is genically at great risk of bloat. So
far so good. He does have digestion issues, but with the help of my vet we may
have found the answer. He will never eat without acidophilous again. And he
is slowly getting the idea that eating won't hurt anymore.

I am sure he is still at risk for bloat and will always be so. He has a very
deep chest that is getting wider with maturity. So the ligaments involved are
streched to begin with, he has relatives that are dead from bloat. I am
breeding his sister to a 9 year old dog, in part because he has not bloated
depsite having a big body type. He is also as outcrossed as I can hope to find.

I will be adivsing my pet owners about bloat and giving them what I hope will
be feeding instructions that will allow for a long and happy life for all of
Liddy's get.

Those of her pups that go to show homes will also be adived of her pedigree
and what has been working with the dogs I have.

My biggest concern, outside of my own dogs, is that her lines were crossed
with my pet's lines and there is bloat there too. I hope that the dogs out of
this breeding do not bloat, but I worry. However, it is up to the breeders
involved to worry about the most. And all the information is there, so they
should know what they are producing.

I have noticed that this has been quite a long discussion. I admit I
haven't read all of them, But...
If you feed processed dog food and canned food, what logical thought process
leads one to believe that the elevation of food dishes will prevent the
fermentation in the stomach?
