I have a friend in Columbus area that needs help with a GSD she pulled from the 
shelter.  She is kind hearted and couldn't leave him there, but has other dogs 
she's adopted, so he needs someone to foster or adopt him.

Hi LuAnn,

He is an older male black/tan long haired GSD, probably weighs 35 lb if that. 
Not sure what all the problems he has, about the half of his hairs, mainly on 
the back, are gone too, and what's left are matted. Totally skin and bones. I 
didn't know he was looking that awful until they brought him out in the 
adoption room. I have no idea how long it will take to make a big dog that 
skinny. He was an owner surrendered. He seems to be a mild mannered, sweet dog. 
He is still at the pound because they still have a few empty cages left. They 
have no rescue to take him because she said the rescues she called are all 
full. I doubt anybody wants an older dog looking that bad and he has been there 
for 20 days as of today. Before you know it, they will have to make rooms for 
Xmas puppies. Since my vet said she won't make a house call that far, we have 
decided to get the dog out of the pound, hopefully this Wednesday, and get him 
boarded at my vet's to have him looked at him. Hopefully no major issues that 
we cannot afford. I will at least have him groomed, dewormed, flea treated & 
shots updated while he is there and hopefully bring him back home on Saturday. 
He can meet the 2 of our dogs at the vet's before hand as I'm taking them in 
for an annual check up/shots Saturday morning anyway. Please let me know if you 
know of anyone who may be interested in caring for him once he gets back in a 
decent shape.
