[ SHOWGSD-L ] Funny puppy story - had to share

So I just took my new puppy out so she could relieve herself.  She's 10 weeks 
old today and has no shortage of confidence.  Why you ask?
 
While walking around the grassy areas near the mailboxes, Lizzie was confronted 
with the oldest of doggie enemies, the dreaded mail carrier!!  When the lady 
came around the corner in full view, Lizzie felt it was her duty to address the 
threat.  Squaring the shoulders, taking a couple steps forward and barking to 
make sure the lady knew she was there.  10 weeks old and already protecting me 
from the enemy, what a good girl.  Then again, I'm not sure it helped her 
confidence any that mommy and the threat couldn't help but laugh at her, LOL!
 
So my question, is hatred of mail carriers ingrained in their DNA?
 
P.S.  Just so none of the trainers out there tell me it's bad for her to be 
doing this at her age and to nip it in the bud, I did tell her no bark and, at 
the approval of the mail carrier, approached to say hello.  To my defense, this 
is the first time she's found a person threatening, most she's been 
fine interacting with.  Last thing I want is a full grown GSD scaring people 
half to death.  I already have one of those and all he has to do is look at 
them cross-eyed, his mere presence is enough, or it could just be his massive 
head!  ;-)
