I am assuming the obvious - that the finders of this dog have traced the tags
back to the local Town Hall that issued the tags and notified the Town Clerk to
let the owner of record know that the dog is located at the SC animal shelter.
Just because the tags are expired doesn't mean that the owner has moved. After
finding the name of the owner, maybe the dog can be traced through AKC records
somehow. Just a thought... Joan
