Hi All -
Change of topic..
Many of you might recall all the flooding out in WA/OR area that occurred
three/four weeks ago?
One of the people that came up on all the various e-mail lists was Nancy
Punchess, a Foxhound breeder that survived for 36 hours in the water, while
holding on to a litter of pups.
Several of the dal folks in that area are good friends of mine and they went
over to check out her situation.. I received some very goary photos of the
property and it makes me sick to my stomach..
She lost about 15 dogs, her house, her whole property is COVERED in about 2
feet of mud. When they came to rescue her, the fireman were able to dig out one
foxhound boy that was up to his neck in mud.
Currently, she is still in the hosp. doing very well but will loose 2/3 toes.
Her puppies are staying with a dal person and have been snuck into the hosp. a
couple of times. The adult boy foxhound is a bit overwhelmed, but doing okay.
So the next time anyone feels like pointing fingers, or placing blame.. Think
about this situation. I don't like all breeds in my breed specific magazines
(and I mentioned it earlier), but in the great grand scheme... Who CARES!!!
I have the photos and if you would like to see them - be ready to cry and be
ready for a reality check.
