it is a sad fact that this dog is far better off being put down, however, if
he bit a child, then he should be heald for quarenteen for 10 days prior to
being euthanized. It is either that, or he will have to be tested for
Rabies.
I am not sure if the laws in other states require the same, but here in
Texas, if a dog bites he/she must be quarenteened for 10 days and watched
for any development of Rabies. should the dog become sick (it might not
even be sick with Rabies) or die witin those 10 days the head must be sent
in and tested for Rabies virus. Even if the dog is fully vaccinated.
