Having a drug sniffing dog I have to agree with Evan, the Supreme Court
ruling is a good thing in the circumstances Evan describes. I find it hard
to believe a dog indicating at the front door or anywhere outside the house
is reasonable cause for police to enter.

Our Supreme Court just decided that the right to privacy in your home
makes it illegal for the police to bring a dog to your front door. In a 5/4
decision the court said a dog is invading your privacy if the police bring
him close to your home without a warrant. A Florida arrest and conviction
was
thrown out.

Had a great nose dog in the 60's who was cross trained for search & rescue
and drugs, such is they were in the 60's. I absolutely agree. My police
training was that we were there to protect the people and our allegiance was
to the Constitution, not to getting a conviction at any cost. How things
have changed.
