My vet told me that when she was taking one of her veterinary classes they
went to the local dog park to take samples of the soil for worm
infestation. Each student was given a 2 ft square to take multiple
samples. After the samples were analyzed no one could believe how heavily
infested the soil was for worms of all types--some very nasty ones too.
Heaviest infestations were around the picnic tables but the rest of the
grounds weren't much better. Certainly not a place I would be taking one
of my dogs!
