Chris writes: " I understand that part, but for the reason of how one would know if that veterinarian understands the breeds." This troubles me for the same reason. For example, every time my well angulated GSD's are examined, by *any* Vet, on the discharge summary, it is always noted that the dogs have "dropped hocks." Yes, I do know that some dogs are "hock walkers," but my dogs are not "hock walkers" and every dog I have is athletic and agile despite their "dropped hocks." I've tried to explain to the Vets that Shepherds stand the way they do because of their angulation, which gives them the beautiful sidegait that a GSD is supposed to have. All I've gotten in return are blank stares. I finally gave up on the explanations. What if a Vet decides that all GSD's with "dropped hocks" shouldn't be allowed to compete in Group?
