[ SHOWGSD-L ] Christmas time--friends and Memories

I love this time of the year,.because you heard from old friends.,that you
haven't heard from since last year. Just heard from my roommate who roomed
with me for 4yrs at the University of MN. She has lived in
Chicago,Detroit,Florida,and now Texas. We talk a couple times per year,and it's
just like we were
back in school. But Christmas seems to be the time you get the latest
updates. Then there is my girl friend that went from kindergarten through high
school graduation There were 3 of us,very close. One has passed on but the two
left still touch base . You make good friends all your life,but it seems
remarkable when you keep in touch with those early buddies. Talking about
good
friends, I heard from Ted Beckhardt today--yes Connie's husband.He was going
to
attend the Denver GSDCA National,and also a WW2 Army Special Ski Patrol
Reunion that was held in Denver,but ended up in he hospital and had a triple
By-Pass He's doing great-- was an impossible patient of course. We talked of
all
our past GSD friends--he said he often thinks of the gang,and the good
times,when Connie was on the Board, and he helped put on Judges training
sessions--which we did at Board meetings. We didn't have an "Education
Chairman" back
then, but we set up training sessions as we traveled around to different
cities
