*I am with Jeanne!!  I have 2 connections for my central vacuum, and I 
reach everywhere!!  All dust, hair and other debris goes into a large 
tank in the garage, where the motor that powers the vacuum is. The lower 
part of the tank is removable, and the collected dirt and hair can than 
be dumped into a plastic kitchen can bag, and go into the trash barrel.  
I splurged, and bought the heavy-duty power wand, thinking if the dog 
hair.  Glad I did.  I have never had a problem with this system, which 
is several years old.  I have changed 2 belts on the power head. The 
house is amazingly dust-free, and I live in a dusty area. Doris E*
