So here's a new topic for the list :)
Does anyone know of a lab that a private individual can send in blood samples
to have blood work completed, such as brucellosis testing?
Thanks,-Bob

There is no factual data to support the statement "Handlers juding a f/m
reduces the entry at that futurity". None. Zero. Period - end of story.
And certainly, a new rule in place for 2 years is not enough information to
truly utilize any data and analyze trends.
As far as Reno and West Coast Sites - The Board and Gail are doing their
due diligence and researching sites. Nobody has determined Reno as even a
viable site, so all the hoopla is a bit premature. It was mentioned at
the board meeting that there was a nice event center there. The board
told Gail "Hey - research it and see what you find out. If it looks
possible, go do a site visit" THAT IS ALL THAT WAS SAID ABOUT RENO. So,
calm yourselves.. geesh. ;-)

Whether I agree with you or not you have always been open and honest and
in my opinion a very effective board member. You state your views on
subjects and you explain ( good or bad) the reasoning of many board
decisions.... I had wondered why the handlers judging the futurities has
now been eliminated.... Makes very good sense, it ain't like we have
millions of handlers, half of em you can't even get in touch with ....But
attempting to consider a Reno National makes no sense at all! You have
local people and former board members ( Dave and Carolyn) telling the board
that Reno is NOT a good idea, but we're going to waste money sending the
Show Chair to Reno with a crate? Re-read my last post from yesterday!
Oregon works, we've been there before..... What am I missing ... And again
I can get to Reno driving in under 3 hours, but to have the National there
just makes no sense... I could be wrong, but I doubt it. Ed Hill

Wonder why handlers can no longer Judge Futurities after 2017?

Handlers juding a f/m reduces the entry at that futurity
It actually brings down entries and revenue for the system. It was an
experiment that failed.
Also having a breeder judge in their own area brings down entries - they
need to judge where they
do not breed and sell their puppies to increase entries. Clubs need to
think of this when
they select their judges.
It is almost impossible to fly a dog anywhere these days. Airlines change
the plane sizes daily.
I dan take the same flight on Friday one week and Friday the next week and
have a totally
different sized plane.
Your Board is trying to find a west coast site that is affordable - works
for the club.
Gail is working her butt off and these negative comments are not helpful.
She will be taking a crate
to Reno. Thank you Gail for your hard work. Very few people wotrk as
hard as she does.
NO SITE is going to be perfect for everyone.
And sites are still available for 2017 and are being researched
Please be patient
This is my personal opinion and not the opinion of the Board which comes
from Lana.

The regions cited were the Northeast (we’ve already heard from Scott) and
the Mid Atlantic which was Jimmy Moses.
First, Jim is no longer a handler, hasn’t been for a few years, second, he
bred/co-bred, owns/co-owns so many dogs in the eastern regions, too many
could not enter & show under him. Unfortunately, not the best choice of
judge by the host club for that region.
The Southeast had a HUGE entry for Terry Hower (former handler) and the
two point shows there drew over 70 entries each.
The BOD forgot that in 2014, the LARGEST entries were for Art Sinclair in
the Midwest, Ben Bigornia in the Northeast and Jerry Guzman (same position
as Jimmy, former handler now judge) in the Mid Atlantic. The Mid Pacific
entry for Mike Sherman wasn’t bad either.

What Fut lost entries due to a handler judging and why was this decision
made in a closed session? The Fut Chair should have been involved in the
discussion. She could have informed them that Scott has only handled in The
NE 1 time in 40 years and George never handled in the region he judged.
Major decision the BOD made without asking the chair for facts and
information.
