Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Black DOGS matter!
At the St Louis National ( since it will be there forever more , saying " St
Louis" is redundant) several folks informed me that there was a vendor selling
shirts with that title phrase. I didn't get around to looking at them but Evan
said they didn't have my size (XXL) anyway! When I first got Iza's black bitch
no one, not even BASU knew I had her for several months, (I may have told
Celeste). I was too busy showing Liz's bitch. BASU usually hates every dog I
get, and tells me to send them back. I've only finished one dog in 15 years
showing GSDs..... Liz's bitch most likely would have finished but she died with
one major and 7 points earlier this year.
When BASU first saw Iza's bitch he went nuts! He called Iza and questioned her
judgement for sending such a dog to me! Iza and I have the same birthday and I
believe we were married to each other in a former life in Russia! ( or maybe it
was Mexico)....
BASU wanted us to run an ad in the Review with a photo of Iza's bitch saying
'Black Dogs Matter'..... I was able to talk him out of it! A judge on this list
once told me if you show a black dog it had better be a good one, when I was
about ten my dad told be something very similar to that only he was NOT talking
about dogs, but that's another story. Maybe it's just me, but I notice and pay
close attention to Black GSDs when and where ever I see them, I own three dogs,
two of them are black. I've had black puppies in the past but never before have
I owned black adult GSDs. I'm prejudice but my two blacks are really really
nice!
I saw several Blacks at the National ,including the ones owned by Iza , Penny
and Candy ( Candy has a truly GREAT one " Black Bart" bred by some lawyer and
his wife who incidentally bred one of my black dogs, half brother to Black
Bart) Black dogs DO matter! I'm glad I have black dogs! FB
