Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Award of Excellence
As you may have heard, or not, I have resigned as Chair of AOE effective with
the end of this year. Since AOE's birth in 2000, with the exception of a few
years, it has been my passion and my joy. Some past trivia...there were two
programs. "AOE" and "AOA" Award of Achievement.
AOE is what it is today, Award of Excellence, and AOA was everything except the
"Select" rating. Both programs passed, except the name "AOA" was not approved,
and I would not change it. Years later, it became Duel Title by Chair, Amber
Turley. The board thought that the "AOA" title was to close to the "AOE" title
and that's just what I liked about it. Now you know the whole story...said
Edward R. Murrow...or someone. Anyway, You know the time has come to retire
when your memory fades, eyes go, and severe joint osteoarthritis is every
where. Ouch!
Laura Gilbert, Co-Chair of AOE will carry on and do a most excellent job.
I will cheer from the side-lines always!
