I think these will be concerns that could potentially be a problem....

I am not trying to start a feud. This is just food for thought.
* We will consider that if the same dog and bitch is entered in both venues
(Regular & Amateur)
and wins one venue it cannot compete in the other venue.
This may cause for a loss of entries: As I recall only the regular fut/mat
offers points
to the sire & dam. Where the amt. does not.
Also if it is a different judge then this should not matter. That would be
almost like
saying well your dog went BIS today so you can not show tomorrow.
* We will bring to the Board the idea of allowing Regular Futurity/Maturity
entries to be entered in two
different Regions but only shown in one. (Thus Bitches that loose coat due
to coming in or that are
in Season can be shown in the one in which they look the best).
Just my thoughts... Most people know approx. when they can expect their
bitches to blow coat.
I personally do not know one person that has not shown their bitch because
she is in season.
Also with the fact that entries are due so early, people may not want to
send in 2 entry fee's just to
loose one. This could also apply for both of the reasons above.
Most people I know enter the fut/mat under the judge that they think would
be
best for their dog/bitch
But I may be wrong.

Yes, Carol's club did well because they put a good Committee group together.
They sold all kinds of ads for the Catalogue which padded their income. And
the good news is that we will have a better production for ads for 08. So
here are some of the PROPOSED CHANGES subject to Board approval of course.
*Juniors will handle in the Amateur regardless of household
* We will debate if dogs/bitches should be shown in both venues for the
Amateur venue.
* We will consider that if the same dog and bitch is entered in both venues
(Regular & Amateur)
and wins one venue it cannot compete in the other venue.
* We will bring to the Board the idea of allowing Regular Futurity/Maturity
entries to be entered in two
different Regions but only shown in one. (Thus Bitches that loose coat due
to coming in or that are
in Season can be shown in the one in which they look the best).
* We will allow those that condition or train others dog/bitches to show
their own breeding only in the
Amateur venue.

I have been the San Antonio Club's futurity Chair for 25 years. Every show
we have done has made money. Even the fiasco with a very low entry in 2006
made $1100., just on the futurity. We made much more on the shows.
We can learn from mistakes. And I know the next futurity we do will be
better attended.
We will do a futurity for the Southwest Region at any time. And we will bid
every year.
If you are holding a futurity one day, we feel we can do an ameteur
futurity
the same day without a lot more effort The ring is there. It would
probably be in the same catalogue with little extra expense. I await word
from the
clubs actually doing one if it contributed to the financial success of their
shows.
I'm not sure how you could just add an aneteur class, with all the different
ages of dogs
