We mustn't forget PERRY, GA! Though a rather long drive for me from up
here in "the north woods" (I prefer to drive, it's half the fun in my
mind), I think it's a wonderful location with all the grounds space and
event availability and camping and everything. I know many
organizations/clubs have week-long events at the GA State Fairgrounds-
plus, it's right off a major interstate & within the hour or so to a major
hub airport that DOES take the largest of crates.
What I don't understand is, that for those who fly to shows, at the
destination end, one always needs rent a car, or have a friend with one to
ride them around places... what's the big deal about having to drive a
little while after getting most of the way there via plane? I just see the
car rental as part of the package deal included with the TIME convenience
of flying.
For the same money, one can DRIVE across the country with multiple dogs and
in one's own vehicle, all for generally the same price as it costs to
purchase a ticket, rent a car, and to have to put petrol in that rental
vehicle anyhow. It's not as if most people who come for the "big show"
are staying for the entire week of the Nationals anyhow and so, take the
week of vacation and drive it, right?
Perhaps I have a different perspective, being a retired Teamster who loved
my fun (it wasn't a job for me, I enjoyed every day for the most part), but
the fact is, that there will never be a location EVERYBODY is always happy
with and where EVERYBODY will always be able to attend, but isn't that the
idea of a rotating national show anyhow?
It would behoove the club IMHO to have a handful of regular locations; say
for example, Oregon, Utah (or Colorado), Missouri, Georgia, and somewhere
more in the North-East... perhaps Pennsylvania or Ohio where we would
rotate the shows around to on a regular basis; making it easier for larger
attendance each year and where everyone was able to plan accordingly for
those "home" years.
But then, I already know I dance a little differently than most

Now this makes the most sense of all the suggestions so far.

No...none perfect ...but we DO have Utah, Colorado,
Kansas, St. Louis, Kentucky....and it
would save the Parent Club finances and this constant
'search' that still fails in some way..... because there
is no perfect site.
OK....I'm done.
