[ SHOWGSD-L ] AKC mistakes

I'm sure this is a given for most folks on the list, but perhaps not for
some of the newbies......
Whenever I send a check to AKC for anything, I write as much info on the
check itself as I can.
For example, registering a litter, I write....."litter reg. app. Sire:
DN0000000 Dam: DN111111" or
for registering a puppy..... "Reg app Ger Shep DN0000000".........A year or
so ago I co-bred a litter with
a lease agreement.....AKC said that the lease agreement had never been sent
in.....If the AKC number of the dam
had not been written on the check we would have had a difficult time proving
that yes, they did get the paperwork
and cashed the check.
