The website shows the new mission statement, which has been amended from the one proposed before the August Board meeting to put a reference to breeding for type and function back into the new statement. The one proposed before made no reference to breeders, to type, or to function. Guess enough people noticed that they had to put it back in. Still, it's not the AKC we used to know............... Peggy Here's the new mission statement: > > "The American Kennel Club is dedicated to upholding the integrity of > its Registry, promoting the sport of purebred dogs and breeding for > type and function. Founded in 1884, the AKC and its affiliated > organizations advocate for the purebred dog as a family companion, > advance canine health and well-being, work to protect the rights of all > dog owners and promote responsible dog ownership." ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
