While it wasn't the main point of my post on Charlie's passing, I am 
comforted by the many posts I have received about the ultimate value of our 
dogs 
(champions or not) - as loved pets. I do hope those who are quick to deride a 
dog of lesser conformation as "just a pet" will reconsider their words. 
"Not championship material" or "Unlikely to finish" is perfectly acceptable to 
describe these dogs, many of whom will live their lives as beloved 
companions and soul mates, their worth well beyond ribbons and titles.
