[ SHOWGSD-L ] A question for the judges - tri-color or so called Panda GSD

Every so often the subject of tri-color/Panda shepherds comes up in a
discussion on various message boards I belong to.
I can't find any where in the GSD breed standard that would disqualify this
color/pattern from being shown in an AKC show.
I'm not saying a tri-color/Panda would win or even be considered for placement,
but that they could walk into an AKC sanctioned show ring, be examined by the
judge, and not get disqualified (except of course it had cropped or hanging
ears, noses not predominantly black, undershot jaw, docked tail or made any
attempts to bite the judge - of course the dog would not be white so couldn't
be DQ'ed for that.)
Would this color/pattern even have a fault or serious fault counted against it?

The German Shepherd Dog varies in color, and most colors are permissible.
Strong rich colors are preferred. Pale, washed-out colors and blues or livers
are serious faults. A white dog must be disqualified."
