It is *not* a good post worth repeating because it propagates
misinformation. If one is upset that the GSDCA is putting on SV
sanctioned shows and losing money, one should *not* put the "blame" on
the SV. Here's why..
It is the *American clubs* who desire to put on SV SANCTIONED shows.
(Note that I said "SV* sanc**tioned* shows," not simply "SV shows.") Why
should the SV cover losses when the SV club proper(Verein für deutsche
Schäferhunde), in Germany, is not the club that is actually putting on
these shows? There are SV sanctioned shows all over the world. Should the
SV offer protection against losses for those hundreds and hundreds of
shows?
That's like asking the AKC to cover losses for all AKC sanctioned shows.
Does the AKC do this? If the AKC does indeed offer some protection
against losses, they're not doing a very good job considering the bind
we're in.
I'm not particularly happy with the direction in which our Club appears to
be going, but I hate the propagation of misinformation. It does nothing
but confuse people and, all too often, it leads to mistrust and hard
feelings.

Our board should take the responsibility to protect our finances. If we
don't require them to pay the costs, we should at least require some
protection.
