I find this to be just short of terrifying - no due process? How can they
possibly be "adopted out" (sold) a day or two after they were (legally or NOT)
confiscated, unless indeed, the owner has allowed it? There have been home
raids in Colorado that were found to be based on unfounded allegations. The
owners were still stuck with tens of thousands of dollars worth of boarding
fees (and legal fees), but at least got their dogs back.
Would not my show shepherds be considered thin by AR-leaning Animal Control
officers? I was pleased that my vets understand that the majority of house
dogs in USA are obese, and approve of the weight my dogs are maintained at.
That's not going to help if a crappy AR/AC officer decides that I might be
"breeding and selling!" dogs (one of the shocking things said about this case)
and decides my dogs are too thin because you can feel ribs.
