SUNFLOWER COMPUTER CLUB
Electronics Recycling Event
Oct 9th - 9 AM to 1 PM
At the request of many SFCC members and Sunflower residents, we have
arranged to have RISE Recycling conduct a computing/ electronic
equipment Recycling Event on Saturday Oct 9th (same day as the
Sunflower Community Yard Sale) from 9AM to 1PM. Their truck will be
located in the Center lot near the Bocce courts (look for the
banner). There is no cost to recycle computers, printers, amplifiers,
VCRs or phones. TVs will have a $5.00 recycling charge.
RISE Equipment Recycling Center is a local non-profit agency that
recycles and refurbishes electronics. RISE works with the community
in order to obtain materials to be recycled. RISE picks up electronic
recyclables from local businesses, and participates in community
events to promote recycling. Donations made to RISE may qualify as a
charitable tax deduction. RISE's primary goal is to increase the
number of donated and low-cost computers available to eligible
charitable organizations, academic users, and other
Microsoft-specially approved recipients. Donations to RISE come with
the following assurances:
* All materials are responsibly recycled or refurbished
* Recycled materials are sent to processors that safely dispose
of materials
* Hard drives are guaranteed to be wiped clean or destroyed
assuring privacy
Licensed Windows XP Operating Systems and MS Office installed on
refurbished computers
