Yes, it's a bit too far out for me to definitely commit to, but I've put it in my calendar and can likely be there for at least part of the event. I don't think there would be too much trouble get a few volunteers. I can think of a couple off the top of my head that would volunteer because they are probably planning on attending anyway.

Jenny this sounds great, but Bill and I are planning a fishing trip

I don't mind helping to organize it and getting ready for it, but I
would need to make sure we had enough volunteers.

for it.

SUBJECT: [SAS-BOD] Debbie, board - An exciting outreach opportunity :)

The mother of a former YAA member is a program director for the sci-fi

convention in October and would like the SAS to feature in part of the

programming. Details below. (Debbie - it's Briar's mom, the girl you
did
the birthday for).

It's for a whole weekend and takes place a few weeks after Valleyfest,

so I think it would be great if we could rally the club together for
it.

I would absolutely love for the Spokane Astronomical Society to
participate in FanNexus in our science area! This can be done in many
ways. You could set up a planetarium in the science nexus (which is
what
we're calling our genre-based areas) -- this is something I would
ABSOLUTELY love to see! -- and/or you could have someone(a) from the
SAS
come and do demonstrations and/or workshops in the science nebula
and/or
the children's programming area. In any case, in-exchange for your
participation, I would provide a place for SAS to advertise there. We
are expecting at least 40,000 attendees for the weekend.

The website is here: http://fannex.us/ though it is still being worked

on. Let me know what you think, and again I apologize for not getting
back to you sooner.
