What a great venue!
Lots of scientifically literate, professional folk all queued up to peer at
various celestial objects. It was a wonderful night, cleared off quite
well aside from a very low bank of clouds in the east that did not obstruct
our view. Mars and Saturn both cleared a tall southern building, from the
low vantage of the deck of the King Cole Bridge. The only drawback to the
bridge was that it vibrated as people walked on it--really bad beneath the
occasional skate board.
We probably should have focused on Jupiter more before it sank into the
western haze, but it was nice having three planets up. I had quite a few
people comment that it was the first time they had seen Saturn.
Kind of makes me want to notify other event organizers of our availability.
