Awards of Recognition Nomination Form 2013
The Columbia Council of Neighborhoods (CCN) is presently seeking
nominations for the 2013 Neighborhood Awards and Hall of Fame.
The awards ceremony will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Seawell’s
Restaurant, 1125 Rosewood Drive, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The
keynote speaker is Karen Tanner, Co-founder of the Ray Tanner
Foundation.
 
NEIGHBORHOOD HALL OF FAME - This prestigious award honors outstanding
individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership or service to
their neighborhood. This award recognizes that the honoree has worked
diligently with their neighbors, the city, and the community at-large to
improve the quality of life in their neighborhood.
Eligibility Requirements: Neighborhood Hall of Fame nominees must be a
current or former resident of the nominating neighborhood.

NEIGHBORHOOD AWARDS
 
NEIGHBORHOOD VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR - This award honors an individual
who has made significant contributions to improving the lives of her or
his neighbors. This award recognizes that the honoree has exhibited
excellence in improving the needs of her or his neighborhood.
 
CCN FRIEND OF THE YEAR - This award honors an individual who has made
significant contributions to the Columbia Council of Neighborhoods. This
award recognizes that the honoree has provided time, energy, and/or
other resources to help CCN fulfill its mission.
 
AWARD OF SPECIAL RECOGNITION - This award honors a neighborhood
association, an organization, or an institution that has made enriching
contributions to the City of Columbia. This award recognizes that the
honoree has improved the livability and sustainability of The Midlands
area.
 
OUTSTANDING YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD (Ages 13 – 19) - This award honors a
youth who has exhibited well-rounded community achievement. This award
recognizes that the honoree has excelled in community service-learning,
academics, and community leadership and has had a positive impact in
changing her or his community.
 
COMMUNITY LEADER OF EXCELLENCE AWARD (Ages 20-30): This award honors a
young adult that has exhibited remarkable community leadership. This
award recognizes that the honoree is actively involved in improving the
quality of life in the Columbia community.
 
The Award Nominations Form must be postmarked or hand delivered by
Friday, March 29, 2013
