The Richland County Public Library System is sponsoring two Reading events in which participants can receive free books: Saturday - March 30, North Main Street Branch, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Children 3 - 10 years can enjoy the picture book groups and children ages 10 and up can read Sharon G. Flake's Money Hungry. Parents can participate in a Growing Savers workshop on debt management and saving. Saturday, April 6, Main Branch - Assembly Street, 10:30 AM - 12 noon: USC graduate students studying the history of Children’s Literature will give kids a blast from the past through great “old timey” books. Children ages 3 to 10 can come and enjoy the picture book groups; those ages 8 and up can read Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers before the program and come ready for a lively discussion.
