Greetings,

This is to inform all the members of SAInT that the work on DSpace Server
setup was successfully completed in July 2007.

For the new members:
The project for the DSpace server @ UIRC, GGSIPU was originally assigned to
the Software club of SAInT in June 2006.

Introducing DSpace

DSpace is a groundbreaking digital repository system that captures,
stores, indexes, preserves, and redistributes an organization's
research data.
Jointly developed by MIT Libraries and Hewlett-Packard Labs, the
DSpace software platform serves a variety of digital archiving needs.
for more information log on to http://www.dspace.org

The Project is implemented through the combined efforts of Software &
GNU/Linux Club, as the hosting server is running on RHEL, using Apache
Tomcat, Postgresql (A free and open RDBMS) and Sendmail (A popular MTA).

The server is now up and running at: http://dspace.ipu.ernet.in:8080/dspace

The UIRC staff is now in the process of uploading all the research papers,
documents, etc on the server.
** due to the timing constraints of UIRC, the server will be available only
between working hours on weekdays.. (9:30 to 5:30)
