Per our group meeting discussion a few weeks ago, below is the email
interaction between myself and Bruce Westman:

If you recall, I sent Bruce an email regarding the possibilities of getting
more options with the policy status field:
Bruce, I wanted to send you an email directly in hopes gain
insight into the possibilities of making a Sagitta system change.

In short, we are looking for the ability to add additional Policy Status types.
Currently, only NEW and REN are available and it is extremely difficult to
track vertical and horizontal growth with just these two fields. The addition
of NBE (New Business Existing) and BOR (Broker of Record) type codes would
solve this issue.

This is a major issue as we expand our use and automation of Sagitta. Programs
and tools such as Direct Bill Commission Download are impossible to incorporate
into lines of business where a commission is paid as the only choice for policy
status is NEW or REN.

This issue/request has been entered into PERS (#2414 and #2549) with several
votes but no notes to indicate where the request stands. Any assistance you
can provide is greatly appreciated.

Bruce's response:
Hi There!! I can tell you that the BOR code has come up a lot recently and in
the next major release (Post 7.5) which will be '09 it will contain a lot of
Accounting changes AND the BOR code will most likely be in the first wave of
changes. I will also bring up NBE but that will be the first release that we
will able to address this....

Hope that helps!!

Bruce

I appreciated his response as he conversed directly and could have easily
fluffed me off and I am hopeful that what I am looking for will be
incorporated. IMHO there are still some issues with the priorities and
management of AMS development and AMSUG R&D and I don't think we'll ever get
the answers and information we want in those areas...
