I visited with the nephews of Gene Lucas last night at Gene¹s house. They
are very motivated to remove his equipment as the whole house has to be
cleared out. They will be giving everything to an estate sale company later
in the week unless someone puts their mark on it. Also, the nephews leave
Saturday.

Gene had a lot of stuff, most of it small items that I¹m not going to detail
here. The larger items included:
LX200 on fork mount with a dolly to move it around
8² Meade S. Cas with a heavy duty tripod and wedge
4² Meade Mak Cas with a solar filter (OTA)
Large GE mount on a pier
8² diameter tube with rings (part of a project I assume)
21² mirror, unmounted, center hole cut (project, needs work on the mirror)
Many tripods of various light to heavy duty
Large Dob mounted tube without primary and secondary (home made for what
looks like a 10² or 12² mirror)
Williams Optics dual speed 2² Crayford focuser for a reflector set up. Looks
never used.
Gene collected ³classic² optics and had about 10 binoculars (mostly
Bushnell) of various sizes, he had microscopes and two Bushnell bino
viewers.
There were also camera lenses, camera filters, parts of various kinds,
cables, etc.
Oh, I almost forgot books. Lots and lots of books.
We only talked about the value of this stuff in general but I get the
feeling they are willing to let things go for any reasonable offer. (They
may even just let it go!) They would rather it go to someone who will use it
from the local area than turn it over to the estate sale company.
