I received word today of the passing of Gene Lucas. Gene was a founding
member of SAC back in the late '70s. I spoke to his nephew, Joel Lucas who
told me Gene passed away on December 8th. Arrangements are not finalized at
this time. Joel said he would share those details with the local astronomy
community when they are known.
