I have made the changes to my indexed file, will resubmit it this afternoon.
I have re-read  ACI I think what it says is OK? I have access to the
database if you want any changes made to the entry.

Geez, you people do come up with some doozies when I'm away and not able to
reply promptly <g>

It's a shame to waste all your good research, but it's not right. 

The 1865 birth of Annie Perrin to Joseph and Elizabeth took place at Young,
nowhere near the Macleay. It's not Ada Felton from the obit. But it is
probably Ada Clutterbuck.  

John and Elizabeth Perrin had an Ada in 1874 at the Macleay River. This is
almost certainly the one you want - father and "life-long resident" as
stated in the obit, 

But John and Elizabeth also had an Annie in 1889 at Kempsey (on the
Macleay). This now adds a bit more confusion, investigation needed. 

So we fall back on Rule 1 - Index what is published. 

FELTON, (Mrs A) as the primary entry

PERRIN, [Ada] as a prev name (PERRIN from the obit, Ada from the marriage
reg)

And that's all we can be sure of.

And it looks to me that the person at Kempsey Council who provided the ACI
comment didn't do any detailed research. Are you able to correct this
record?

I have attached a death notice from the Manning River Times . I looked up
the death in BDM but there is not a listing of it. I was able to find her
birth in 1865 in Kempsey and it is registered as Annie Perrin d/o Joseph and
Elizabeth. I did a search on Felton marriage to Perrin and came up with Ada
Perrin marrying Christopher Felton. I then searched Ada (no surname) in
deaths 1943 and found Ada Clutterbuck's death registered in Kempsey, d/o
Joseph and Elizabeth so I searched Clutterbuck marriage to Felton and came
up with a marriage of Annie Felton marriage to John Clutterbuck in Armidale
in 1923. So I have indexed it as 

 



Is this correct?
