I just picked up a 3.5F Xenotar and have been amazed how sharp and great
contrast contrast. When scanned at 3200 how well they look at 12 by 19. My
Zeiss does not have the same look. It is a bit subdued. Is this my imagination?
BTW. I UPGRADED my Epson scanner from 4870 to the V600. No more wrestling
trying to get good 6x6 scans.
There is a new word in my photographic vocabulary- micro contrast. I get the
idea but still cannot define it. My texts do not address it.

Unfortunately there is no area on the Freelists web site for attachments.
The several lists I belong to either allow attachments or have some area at the
host web site for them. There are good arguments on both sides of this issue.
For years I was on a dial-up, very slow and eventually became too difficult to
use. I still have it as a back up. I think many on this list are now on some
sort of broadband connection but may have metered downloads. It would be
interesting to do a survey of members. Well poles are popular now so perhaps we
can have our own. I will start: I am on a fast DSL.

Folks:
This is a photographic list, but we can't see photos? Picture that (pun

Used to be that low bandwidth dial up connections and metered services made
attaching jpgs cumbersome and expensive...
Now, just about everyone has some form of broadband?
We would be interested in hearing from list members that feel including jpgs
would still be a hardship...
I'm thinking Marc would want to weigh in especially if we hear from
membership...
Folks,
Let's keep the current ban in effect for the present. Perhaps those with slow
connections for whom the posting of binaries would be an issue could speak up.
