It was the GENERAL practice of all German camera companies at that time to mark cameras for the world market or for Europe in metric and those for the US, UK, or British Empire in Imperial. But this was not a universal practice due to commercial demands: if there was a sudden demand for Rolleiflex cameras in the US, and the only cameras available for shipping were marked in metric, then the US got a boatload of metric cameras. The reverse worked as well. In addition, the PX system stocked either throughout the world.

1112886 was a Rolleiflex 3.5 in the eyes of Franke & Heidecke and was marketed outside the US as that or as the Automat II. In the US, it was sold as a Rolleflex X. It was produced between OCT 1949 and MAY 1951. Your camera would probably date from late 1949 or early 1950, making it of an age with myself! (I was hatched in JAN 1950.)

If you will post the details of the lens and the full serial number, I might be able to provide more information.
