Oh, the nostalgia.
Although the first "real" camera I ever used was a Rolleiflex, the
first I ever owned was a Vito, purchased at Willoughby's in New York,
with which I exposed my very first roll of color slide film, Kodachrome
Type A.
I used it outdoors with an 85 filter, which reduced its blistering ASA
of 16 to EI 10. That was a more complex arrangement than simply using
ASA 10 Daylight, but I needed the extra sensitivity for available light
photography. In those days, exposure times of 1/10 sec. were more or
less what I normally
hand-held quite steadily (or so I thought) and an iris diaphragm was
much a useless frill. The Vito was eventually stolen and over years
replaced with a succession of 35 mm cameras. I liked the little
Voigtlander, but can't say it was a particular favorite. It was,
however, my first, I was 16, and you always remember your first.
Now Kodachrome is also in the Other Place. Oh, well.
