Peter,
A plate back adapter was made for the SL66 - I have one - and it will fit all
models of SL66 although the metering will not work with the "E" and "SE". It
uses the same plate/sheet film slides as for the TLR plate back. It also takes
the ground glass screen, which can be useful for checking the full field of
view etc.
I bought mine new a number of years ago from the factory (hence costa-bomb),
long after all the SL66’s and accessories ceased to be listed - they still had
some in stock. They may still have some now. I have seen them occasionally on
Ebay and in auction house listings. Sometimes very cheap as an "unwanted" item
or very expensive as a "very rare” item. The slides are available, usually as
part of a TLR kit but I have bought some extras at a photo fair. It can be
easier to persuade someone face to face that they have something that no one
will want and is thus essentially has no value rather than on the internet.
The back should be shown in Prochnow but if you like, I can PM you a photo of
mine.
Best,
John
I have never used mine but as I have some film, it is my intention to follow in
Carlos’ footsteps and try sheet film.

Hi everyone:
I'm asking for any information regarding a plate film adapter for the
original SL-66. I have been told that yes, there was one made for the manual
SL-66's and I have also received one "no" - that no plate adapter was made
for the 66's. Who has input for me?
Best to all,
Peter
