I found in my files these two Rollei Fototechnic original press
releases in English (Note Rollei thought or at least they said the GX
Royal Urushi would be the last Rolleiflex TLR, however they afterward
manufactured the GX F&H 80th anniversary, the FX, FW and FT) :

" Rolleiflex 2.8 Royal

a legendary classic

Only very few cameras can claim to have secured for themselves a
reputation of being an indisputable masterpiece in the history of
photography. The twin-lens Rolleiflex is definitely one of them. It
became a shining example for an entire generation of cameras. The
world’s top photographers have been using the Rolleiflex to create
unforgettable pictures.

This classic camera is now being produced in a final limited edition
as unusual, artistically inspired special models. The housings, frame
and other visible metal parts are hand-finished using Urushi, an 18th
century Japanese lacquering technique. The special lacquers merge into
one another as they are applied and form a new pattern each time. The
glossy blue-black enameled surfaces contrast with the high-gloss,
gold-plated frame elements, rings and operating elements. The
Rolleiflex 2.8 Royal, fitted with a Zeiss Planar f/2.8 80 mm HFT,
comes with a certificate in a high-quality wooden case.

The edition is strictly limited: there will only be 1,000 cameras
throughout the world, with 200 being built in Brunswick each year over
the next five years."

A classic in new clothes

Legendary Rolleiflex 2.8GX modified

Recent months have seen a trend towards nostalgic cameras with modern
features. The result is a resurgence of new editions of venerable
camera models. After the Rollei 2.8F Mini, which appeared at the end
of last year as a tribute to its legendary predecessor, Rollei now has
modified its second well-known twin-lens reflex camera, the Rolleiflex
2.8 GX. This camera is now called the Rolleiflex 2.8 FX and offers the
classical twin-lens concept, paired with present-day exposure comfort.
Its low weight and compact design make it an ideal partner for
spontaneous situations in which different focal lengths are of no
importance. The Rolleiflex 2.8 FX will be available from March 2002
for Euros XXX (incl. VAT).
On its outside, the Rolleiflex 2.8 FX is identical to its predecessor:
It is covered with brown cowhide leather and croco imprint. The
lettering on its front is exactly the same as that of Rolleiflex
cameras of the thirties. The subdued elegance of the camera is
enhanced by the chromium side edges of its back. Also, the time-tried
strap suspension of its predecessors is again used here.

The technical features of the Rolleiflex 2.8 FX already are legion: An
80 mm f/2.8 Planar lens with Rollei HFT coating, a TTL exposure meter
and TTL autoflash control in conjunction with an SCA-356 adapter
provide ample room for creative experimenting. A between-the-lens
shutter provides speeds from 1 s to 1/500 s.

Two SI photocells behind the viewfinder mirror serve for
center-weighted average metering. Additional features are a
permanently visible viewfinder image, parallax compensation within the
waist-level finder as well as interchangeable viewfinders and focusing
screens".
