The sort of 'regular' films around look to be of the order of 40-60 ASA around 1946. FP3 40 ASA and Selo chrome was 64 ASA. Those speeds are around that of today's Ilford Pan F. I don't know when Pan F came out but a 1951 ad gives it as around 32 ASA accounting for the safety factor.

Interesting that Ilford had HP3 in 1941 of around 250ASA. These are post 1960 speeds after the standard changed.


Anyway I took the 'cord to see where some derelict boats were being salvaged from a river. I forgot my meter & had to use my digital camera as a meter.

I will do another roll properly metered.
