Jan,

Here is why;  You get a bellows long enough for a 150mm lens
at extension for 1 to 1, and it becomes too bulky to use a 50mm
lens at , say 8x. .  Believe me, I have tried it with the great boat
anchor, Elwood. Lens cones solved all problems with the D-2.
