Factory data size for Rollei TLR cameras are given taking in
mind the camera as a whole, including focusing knobs, film external knobs,
crank or winding knob, lenses front panel , WLF , feet and camera back;this
way you can find some slight differences among the models about size. The
size difference between the Original Rolleiflex manufactured from 1929 to
1932 and the 2.8Fmanufactured from 1960 up to 1983 is a few milimiters as a
whole; the "secret" for the Rollei TLR compactness as MF camera is the film
upper spool position beneath the mirror and the film vertical running, it
does not change along the years; anyway the Original Rolleiflex used 117
film for 6 exposures and could only beadapted to use 620 film; 120 film was
sed from 1932 for the Standard.
The fact you can use a Plate adapter back made-f.e--in 1949 on a 2.8fF made
-f.e.- in 1980 or on a Rolleicord Vb from 1976 is telling something about
the Rollei TLR cameras size.
