John mentioned the SL 66, there are at least two 1000mm lenses for this camera, one of them is a regular lens, a Tele Tessar f8/1000mm 4,5º angle of view, 8740g; the other is a mirror lens, the Zeiss Mirotar f5,6/1000mm, five elements, 4,5º, 16500g (a bit heavy...). They would be good to capture lyons hunting in the Kalahari.
