Clarifications about Rollei, F & H, who does what, who owns what ?

Hi Ruggers

Theg sad news about Claus prochnow's death (July 2008) triggered some questions for myself about the current state of brands & companies Rollei GmbH, Franke & Heidecke, Rolleimetric, etc... so I'd like this group to help me clarifying a somewhat complex business situation.

My sources so far : I read through an Internet search those informations posted here,

In English : http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1018&message=28348165

In German : http://www.photoscala.de/Artikel/Rollei-tranchiert
a somewhat crude automatic translation might help : http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.photoscala.de%2FArtikel%2FRollei-tranchiert&hl=fr&ie=UTF8&sl=de&tl=en

So, if I understand well, this is what I submit to the group for criticizing and trying to make a clear and updated summary of the situation (if Dirk-Roger from Braunschweig is reading this, please correct me !):

As of summer 2008 :

- Rollei GmbH Berlin no longer exists... in Berlin, however a certain Rollei GmbH company, for which the web site is almost empty,

http://www.rollei.de

is hosted in Braunschweig in the historical factory seems to exist and to be in charge of licensing the Rollei brand names as well as being the owner of the Rollei estate at 196, Salzdahlumer Str., Braunschweig.

- a company named Rolleimetric is also hosted at the same place and continues the business of sepcialised cameras for photogremmetry http://www.rolleimetric.de/

- and of course F&H continues exist, they are supposed to rent the space at Salzdahlumer Str. and pay royalties to use the brand Rollei http://www.franke-heidecke.net/

- a certain company RCP Technik in Hamburg markets Rollei-branded consumer cameras. http://www.rcp-technik.com/typo3/index.php?id=rolleihome1&no_cache=1

- and last but not least, MACO sells Rollei-branded film... neither made by Rollei (nor by MACO, but this is still unclear) http://www.mahn.net/

On this last point I have started to try in a public discussion (in French) ...

http://www.galerie-photo.info/forum/read.php?f=1&i=72907&t=72907

... the discussion is aimed at extracting public, reliable information from a French distributor of Rollei-MACO films in order to know who makes MACO-branded film, and where they come from. Until now the origin of the Maco- (or Rollei-) branded films was not officially disclosed, for the frist time an interesting film marketed under the brand Rollei Superpan 200 is clearly identified by MACO as being Agfa aerial film with no secret ! Yes, there was little doubt about the Rollei Slide Direct film being Agfa film, but if the origin of the film for all MACO-ROLLEI products was clearly stated, I thing most of us would really appreciate !!

So Rollei / F&H friends, please help me understanding the intricated situation of Rollei / F&H brands & companies as of summer 2008 !!
