All I can say about Diane Bish is that she is the greatest ambassador for the organ, that we have ever seen. People that have no idea of what is involved with organs or organ playing have been educated as to what all is involved. ("You use your feet, too?") After college, I had not played any instrument in over 3 years. One lonely night in Dallas, in 1983, I saw she was dedicating the new pipe organ at the First Baptist Church. I thought, what the heck, and went to see this woman. In 2 hours, she totally transformed me back into what has been a 20 year ongoing re-education about the organ, and playing for a congregation again. Her recitals are well attended, and I just look at all of the people and know they now see what actually is involved with playing an organ. Don't we all wish we had her energy and skill at putting the organ back where it belongs? She has certainly contributed to keeping us all from being extinct for several more years to come. Keep her in all of our prayers.
