Schantz brings to mind what the featured organist
told a masters class at Glorieta Music Week some years back: "There are only
two reasons for locking an organ: (1) The
organist is insecure and afraid that somebody else will successfully play it.
(2) The organ is so bad that you're embarrassed
for anybody to play it."
